"The Lake Arts Project, Aurora's Dream"

Lake Arts Project is grateful to be a recipient of a Bader Philanthropies grant for its 2015 - 2016 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 seasons.

The Mission of Lake Arts Project is to give young people an experience immersed in art, teaching them that art is an essential part of life. We accomplish this through creative and collaborative performance-based projects. Finding opportunities for young people to create art and to experience how their artwork affects the world around them provides a self-confidence and an deeper understanding of the value of community.

Today, as ballet teachers and former professional dancers, we strive to bring dance and art into the lives of those around us including students, their families, our audiences, and our community. In the ballet classes we teach, we feel our students need more than just dance training. In seeking a way to enrich our students' training and education exposure with a deeper understanding of what both dance and other artforms can bring to their lives, we have created Lake Arts Project to join forces with others to bring dance and other art forms together for the benefit of both those who participate and those who observe.

We feel that we all must:

  • Understand how art is relevant in today's world

  • Discover how art can directly and indirectly affect our lives

  • Learn how passion, study and skill of art forms can lead to a balance, peace, joy and, at times, a profession in life.
